Josh Green
John Burrison Pottery Studio - Studio Coordinator & Instructor
Ceramics has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. From the time I first had a sense of the larger world around me, I was learning about how clay worked and testing the limits of what I could do with it. I graduated from High school in 2007 and went on to study Fine Arts at Piedmont College under the guidance of Christopher Kelly. I earned my BFA from Piedmont in 2012, with a concentration in 3d Design and a minor in History. I was accepted into the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center’s ceramic artist-in-residence position a year later and spent the next two years honing my technical and professional skills in ceramics through the facilities at Callanwolde, under the guidance of Glenn Dair. During my time at Callanwolde I also got involved with production work through other studios, and took part in various workshops from discussions about the nature of clay to firing methods for different kilns. My residence at Callanwolde ended in December 2015, and I have since continued working and growing as a ceramic artist through teaching, freelance work, and sales of my own wares.
