8/30 Face Vases at The Festival 1:00-3:00: Get Muddy and Make a Face—Literally!
In this 2-hour, hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own folk-inspired face vase—just like the traditional potters of the South. Each participant will receive a pre-thrown pot (approximately 6” tall), and our skilled instructors will guide you step by step as you sculpt a unique face onto it.
Your finished piece can serve as a vase, utensil holder, or simply a one-of-a-kind decorative treasure. After sculpting, you’ll choose a glaze color, and we’ll take care of the glazing and kiln-firing. Your jug will be ready for pickup at the Folk Pottery Museum in about four weeks—we’ll notify you as soon as it’s done. If you're visiting from out of town, shipping is available for an additional fee.
Come get your hands dirty and take home a piece of folk pottery tradition!
Instructors: Jeanie Daves & Laurel Camp
Date: Saturday, August 30th, 1:00-3:00pm during the Folk Pottery & Arts Festival
Cost: $50 per person (shipping is extra)
